Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team had a rider involved in every move at Le Samyn, from a five rider break involving Iljo Keisse that had a 8 minute, 45 second gap at one point, to Michal Kwiatkowski making a break and then going into time trial mode on his own — from 7 km until 5.2km remained — on Wednesday. The team also chased down other attacks and made their way to the front for the leadout during the bunch sprint. There was no question the team dictated the race.
Unfortunately, the train had difficulty sustaining itself with 1.3km remaing. Arnaud Demare (FDJ) won out on the sprint, with Matteo Trentin placing 10th.

Omega Pharma – Quick-Step Cycling Team has officially announced the formations that will take part in the GP Samyn and the Driedaagse Van West Vlaanderen races.
"Samyn is a race which traditionally ends with a sprint of about 40/50 riders" said Sports Director Tom Steels. "The route is hilly and also suited for some attacks. We'll be at the start with a squad built around our sprint specialists, Andy Fenn and Francesco Chicchi. Depending on how the race develops, Jerome Pineau could also play a part."
On another front, the Driedaagse Van West Vlaanderen starts on Friday, March 2nd. Last year one of the major players was Michal Kwiatkowski, who finished the competition in third place.
"The first day will feature a 7-kilometre time trial that will be especially important for the classification and which is suited to Michal's skills," explained Sports Director Rik Van Slycke. "In the two successive stages we will race according to the results in the prologue. They are two difficult stages with significant sections on cobblestones. The crosswind could also be an important factor. At the start we will line up a good squad ready to support Michal which will also be striving for a stage victory if the chance arises. In the squad we have an athlete like Chicchi, who already managed to win a stage on these roads in the past."

Martin Velits and Matteo Trentin felt healthy enough to ride for two hours on Monday, just two days after both crashing out of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.
Velits did not race Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne as a safety precaution after his crash, but his injuries have not kept him off the bike.
Velits reported that his crash on Saturday was due to a wet section of road. He couldn't avoid the rider in front of him as a result.
