Style of rider: all-rounder
Nickname: Picasso
Hobbies: drawing, painting, aerosol art

Dario is our team artist. He has always been passionate about painting, so much so that he has earned the nickname Picasso from the group. The team’s motor home and hotel rooms become his improvised art studios during the season. In his suitcase he’s always got pencils and pastels. A complete rider, Dario has won the Under 23 Giro d’Italia and made his mark in the Tour de l’Avenir. After a series of good placements among the pros, Dario is working towards a dream of his: to make it to the top of the rankings in the Giro d’Italia, thus painting his young career with a splash of pink.

Dario's news

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team put all riders at the front in the 162.5km Tour of Beijing Stage 3, as Tony Martin's GC lead on many riders was within 50", and they knew Stage 3 — which included a finish on the Badaling Great Wall — would feature relentless attacks from the peloton throughout the race.

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team riders Dario Cataldo and Kevin De Weert did more than just survive the brutal, rainy, 255km Il Lombardia on Saturday — which included the 1.9km, 15.8% average gradient, 25/27% maximum ramp Muro di Sormano — they made the lead group. De Weert was also strong enough to attack on the Madonna Del Ghisallo (8.58km, average gradient of 6.2% and maximum ramp of 14%).

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team has won its 50th race — in three disciplines — in 2012, with Dario Cataldo battling on gradients of more than 20% in the final kilometers to win the 183.5km Stage 16 of La Vuelta a Espana.
